You might be more familiar with the popular Japanese raw seafood dish known as Chirashi Don. Poké bowls are similar to this Japanese counterpart but its origins (and taste) are vastly different! Poké first originated from Hawaii and eventually caught waves within the U.S. Since then, this superfood became widely popular with health-conscious eaters.

At its core, Poké bowls are essentially raw fish rice bowls. Additional ingredients include vegetables like onions and scallions, sesame seeds and a variety of sauces. Another food that enjoys its status as a superfood, Acai is the new trendy ingredient that has been the popular choice for many. Acai berries are a berrylike fruit harvested from Acai palm trees native to the regions of South and Central America.
